Why did you become a Collaborative Professional?
As a clinician, I’ve seen the other side of divorce for many years. I’ve helped many clients cope with their divorces in the therapy room. After hearing endless stories about the horrors of the litigation process, I knew that I had to be a part of something that aims to change that.
What advice would you give future Collaborative Professionals?
Find a mentor and shadow a case if you can. In hindsight, I’ve realized that there are many nuances to being a part of a collaborative case that I wish I’d known before my first case.
What is your favorite part of being a CLP Member?
The friendships and professional relationships that I’ve made over the last 6 years, for certain.
What is on top of your bucket list?
Traveling with my family to as many places as possible.
What is your favorite line from a movie or song?
Not so much a favorite line, but a favorite word: “continue”.
What book are you reading right now? What is the best book you’ve ever read?
Joan Didion, “The Year of Magical Thinking”. I am an avid reader and couldn’t possibly pick just one to be my favorite.
Any motto to live by?
The motto I live by the most is “everything in moderation”. I like for this to include both chocolate and work.
What fictional family would you be a member of?
I would definitely choose to be a member of Modern Family. Every day would be hilarious.
